Hippodrome

Location: Chatelaillon-Plage, France

Brief: To create a housing complex next to  a new development of a racecourse (done in conjunction with Agaura Architecture).

The neighbourhood is restructured and enhanced by creating an identity for future urban residents. This is accomplished by establishing green nodes linked by pedestrian networks resulting in communal areas for social interaction. 

The site is organised into three plot sizes with communal parking areas to stimulate pedestrian movement. The house plans are designed so that they can be extended through simple modular intervention.
